Zurn 62: Lyman-Morse Nears Completion of 62' Flybridge

For Immediate Release: March 13, 2008

Marblehead, MA – Renowned yacht builder Lyman-Morse is putting the final touches on one of the latest designs from the ever-expanding portfolio of Massachusetts-based Zurn Yacht Design. This 62’ flybridge motoryacht, dubbed Mad Max by her very knowledgeable owners, places a premium on both performance and comfortable on board living. Lyman-Morse anticipates a spring launch date for this beautiful custom cruiser.

With a high length-to-beam ratio (approaching 4.0), carefully designed running bottom and efficient propulsion system, Zurn Yacht Design’s Doug Zurn has ensured a smooth, comfortable ride. Lightweight composites and materials keep this big motoryacht relatively light and nimble, giving her the agility of a boat half her size and a top speed better than 32 knots. Cruising comfortably at 21 knots with standard twin CAT C-18 1,000hp diesels, the Zurn 62 affords a very respectable 950 nautical mile cruising range.

A bi-level aft cockpit and large swim platform provide plenty of room for relaxing and enjoying life at the water’s edge. The lower cockpit

doubles as a storage bay for a 10-1/2 ft. waterjet-powered RIB. Up on high, the flybridge offers commanding views, a helm station with full compliment of navigation electronics, a refrigerator for drinks and comfortable lounging for six.

The interior layout centers around two large common areas: a spacious pilothouse saloon and a lower level ‘great room’, featuring galley, bar, lounge and entertainment center. The full width master stateroom resides aft, comfortably situated around the hull’s center of gravity. This spacious suite offers a true king size bed, office workstation and ensuite head with stall shower. Hull ports draw in abundant natural light and ventilation. Forward, the guest stateroom offers a queen size island berth, abundant clothing and gear storage, plus private access to a head and shower.
