MARBLEHEAD, MA – Singer/songwriter Billy Joel hits a high note in the world of yachting once again. A decade after the heralded launch of the thirty-eight foot Shelter Island Runabout, Joel has again teamed up with yacht designer Doug Zurn to create another showstopper in the high performance luxury yacht market. The result of their collaborative efforts is the “VENDETTA”, a gorgeous fifty-seven foot throwback to the bygone days of the Long Island commuter boats. Her graceful lines alone are enough to capture your heart, but it is her top speed approaching 50 knots that will take your breath away.
Paul Derecktor and his crew at Derecktor Shipyards are preparing “VENDETTA” to be christened on Sunday, July 24. The event will take place at Derecktors Mamaroneck, New York facility (just on the border of Connecticut off I-95). Food and beverages will commence at 1:00 pm including two smoked pigs, burgers, hot dogs and all the complements. Plan on arriving any time after 12:00 noon.
